This has been an exciting week for Chief Keef. Yesterday saw the release of his joint album with Gucci Mane, Big Gucci Sosa, and this we highlighted some of Keef's best self-produced records in anticipation of Back From The Dead 2. The tape dropped last nigh, and though there are some beats done by Young Chop and 808 Mafia, the bulk is credited to Sosa On The Beat, making this effectively a true solo project. The original Back From The Dead, the explosive tape that turned Keef from a local Chicago street legend to a national star, was all ragged, industrial tracks and zombified hooks of menace—here, his production is minimalist and restless in a way that perfectly encapsulates a flow that's impossible to pin down.
