Lupe Fiasco's long-awaited, upcoming record, Tetsuo And Youth, finally has a release date: January 20th, 2015. Bizarrely, Anonymous hackers have claimed credit for it. The collective says they gave Fiasco's label Atlantic Records an ultimatum of 24 hours to announce the record's release or else, Hypebot reports.
@AtlanticRecords: You have 24 hours to present a statement announcing the immediate release of @LupeFiasco's album.

@AtlanticRecords: If you do not comply, we will launch a direct attach against your website, your associates, and your executives.

About 19 hours after the claim, Atlantic sent out this tweet confirming the album release date.
@LupeFiasco's #TetsuoAndYouth 1/20/15

While Anonymous—who hacked the Warner Music site in Argentina this past July—believes they pushed the label into announcing, when The FADER contacted a spokesperson for Lupe for comment they said simply: "The release date is 1/20/15 as mentioned and we’ll provide more details on the project soon."
Well then. Never mind. Looks like @AtlanticRecords made the smart move and listened to us. #LupeFreed

Either way, we're looking forward to hearing new Lupe music soon.
