23 hours ago, recent high school graduate and SLC expat Euphoria Again quietly dropped an EP. The teenager, who has previously released projects on cassette through Brooklyn bedroom dreamers Orchid Tapes, recently moved to Philadelphia and dropped this new collection out the blue. The Mouse Rides On tracklist unsubtly references melody-obsessed songwriters like Neil Young, Alex Chilton, and Donovan who, presumably, have heavily influenced his own sad and soulful bedroom rock. The EP is an essential listen, particularly the scuzzy and familiar-feeling twinge of Smashing Pumpkins-esque "Mona Lisa," which I've listened to ~ six times since noon and also reminds me a little of Big Troubles' Romantic Comedy, a pop record I love a lot.
