Awful Records’ Ethereal & Father Are Flooding the Streets

Awful Records, based out of a complex in Atlanta called The Barrio, are carrying their summer run straight into the fall by relentlessly dropping quality singles, videos, and full length projects as more attention turns in their direction. Earlier this month, Ethereal and Father dropped a joint video for their songs "Believe" and "Dame Fuego," lurking outside of a corner store during a late storm. As usual, Father's quick-whipped wrists steal the show (the Ice Molly dance is now famous if you hadn't noticed), and Ethereal's stoned flows and on-screen swagger strike too real: if you catch me slippin' boy, it's all good, that's just work, when I catch 'em chillin' boy, it's all bad, they gon' hurt. This week, the duo released "Styx" with a relative new face for the crew: Abra sings through a distorted echo that only accentuates the vibe of floating down the unholy river. It's getting harder to keep up with everything this crew is dropping, but when stuffs this cool that's a fun problem to have.
