Stream Weyes Blood’s “Some Winters,” Another World-Swallowing Folk Song from Her New LP

In her recent GEN F profile, 26-year-old Natalie Mering explained to The FADER how she achieves her uniquely powerful vocals, comparing the technique to "singing through 'two open alligator jaws and blasting harmonically.'” On the Vogue-premiered "Some Winters," the latest warped folk song to be released from from her new Weyes Blood LP, Mering's voice sounds heavenly. It floats around fluttering keystrokes and a world-swallowing ambience, like some sort of old-fashioned hymn rewired by an idiosyncratic songwriter with a huge voice. The Innocents is out October 21st on Mexican Summer.
