Here it is! The final roundup. We've got a moveable feast at Ralph Lauren, playful digs at Chloë Sevigny for OC, and everyone's new crush at En Noir. Marc Jacobs gave us a strange projection of the future, and Joan Smalls in a bobbed wig. Look, enjoy and then go to sleep, maybe forever.
Chloë Sevigny for OC
A bit girl-next-door, a bit Daria, a bit club kid— Chloe Sevigny for OC was more of what we've come to expect from the long-running collaboration. This one was for sweet little sailors in a Parisian palette of red, blue and black topped off with berets. High met low when bloom-adorned wedges were paired with "Tri-State Represent" snapbacks. It's a sweet, twee vision for spring. See the entire collection here.
Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren SS15 reminded us of an old Hollywood movie about a safari. Gilda meets The Snows of Kilimanjaro. Muted jewel tones were transposed onto fabrics and shapes we haven't seen in a while, and amongst the sea of cutouts, leather detailing, and sheer dresses it struck us with an old world kind of romance. That's not to say it was too coy: slits ran way up the thigh and stiff silk safari jackets were styled open, with just a necklace underneath. See Dazed's gauzy photo diary, here.
En Noir
Marc Jacobs
It's hard to fully understand the thought process behind a Marc Jacobs presentation, but this season, they at least tried to give us a chance. The audience was given Beats by Dre Pro headphones and treated to a running monologue that accompanied the audio-immersive show. Models walked around a lush pink house in matching blunt bobbed black wigs. The clothes themselves were exaggerated, amplified takes on militaristic uniform dressing. Plus, there is literally nothing better than this sight of Anna Wintour wearing Beats by Dre headphones. First the trap phone, now this, honestly what else could Anna possibly do to endear us more to her at this exact moment?? See the whole collection here.
