Hear Lotic’s “Illegal, Inconsiderate” Edit of Kelela’s “Bank Head”
Kelela’s voice becomes a beacon in a world of chaos for the Berlin-based producer.

Berlin-based Texan producer Lotic knows the power of an exposed, vulnerable vocal. On this new remix of Kelela's "Bank Head," he has her acapella floating like a butterfly until he pins its wings to a horror movie backdrop of jarring chimes and stuttering percussion. The producer, who's a resident at Berlin's genre-destroying club night Janus, tweeted that it was an "illegal/inconsiderate" remix, but it shows tons of consideration for what makes Kelela so captivating, in the same vein as Lotic's biggest influence Total Freedom's recent warped take on her track "Enemy." There's something about that voice that attracts chaos, standing tall and bright like a lone flame as the world is taken to pieces all around it.
