North Carolina rapper WNDRKND takes a slightly different angle to the fairly route "weed song." Passing production duties to Chicago beatmaker Hank Iving, he focuses on the larger societal effects on the plant, instead of the typical consequence-free day spent getting high. He raps I've been up in the studio so long that the electrical bill might be half of the check, which is less hot rap line and more a common concern of being an everyday MC trying to support their own craft. He might eventually circle around to take a hit or a puff, the song is rooted in far more universal issues.
