Watch Pell’s Aspirational New Clip “Runaway”

Pell's "Runaway" is a little derivative, but still manages a wide-eyed sweetness that makes it worth a spin or two. The New Orleans MC bikes around alleys in Los Angeles, dressed like Earl and rapping like Chance about an ex he feels guilty texting. The hook swells big over production from Jeppe Kjellberg and Tomas Barfod, two Danish musicians who play in a band called WhoMadeWho. It's a well-intentioned attempt at sheeny rap-pop that could very well capture the hearts of the class of 2015 this fall.
