Tonight at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, before, between and after Nicki Minaj's trio of performances, Common's moment of silence for Ferguson, Beyoncé's tears and all that ass, a dozen or so Moonman statues were given out. The night's clear big winner was of course Beyoncé, who not only slayed her performance, but also accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award as well as three other awards (Best Collaboration, Best Video With A Social Message, Best Cinematography). Meanwhile, last year's center of gravity Miley Cyrus sat tight through the whole show and even after her name was called for the night's biggest award, Video of the Year, for "Wrecking Ball," at which point she sent a homeless man named Jesse up to accept the award on behalf of homeless and runaway youth across the country in her place. Elsewhere: Lorde -- aka the "there's even a lady in the mix," per presenter Trey Songz -- won for Best Rock Video. Katy Perry (who arrived in head-to-toe denim with RiFF RaFF, channeling Britney and Justin in 2001, for whatever reason) won Best Female Video. The X Factor's Fifth Harmony beat out ScHoolboy Q, Sam Smith and Charli XCX in the Artist to Watch category (presented by Taco Bell). See all of the winners below.
