A man has died after being shot while backstage at Wiz Khalifa's Under The Influence of Music show in Mountain View, California on Friday night. The San Jose Mercury News reports that police were called to the Shoreline Amphitheatre at around 11.05pm to find that the victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday morning.
Wiz, who played to 22,000 people in Mountain View on Friday before the incident, tweeted the following: "Due to a situation out of our control, tonight's [Saturday's] UTIOM show [in Chula Vista] is cancelled. This was a senseless tragedy. Violence is never the answer. My prayers go out to the victim's family."
Police are investigating the connection between the victim and the concert and appealing for any witnesses who can provide information leading to an arrest.
