Following “Way to Be Loved,” which we premiered last month, Montreal quartet Tops unveiled another new track, “Outside,” from their upcoming second album Picture You Staring. Mood-wise, “Outside" is a departure from the jazzy first single; it's a romantic ballad that's a little “Nothing Compares 2 U” and a little bit "Take My Breath Away" with lush atmospherics, a sluggish beat, soulful guitar, and Jane Penny’s wistful-as-ever vocals. Picture You Staring is slated for a September 2nd release on Arbutus.
