Fans of Untold have something to rejoice today, and it won't cost them a dime. The British producer (real name Jack Dunning) has released a mixtape entitled Echo in the Valley—a companion piece to his recent album Black Light Spire. According to a press release, the mixtape's ominous sound is based on loops of rhythmic phrases that convey the “echoes of another world.” On his website, Untold mysteriously describes Echo in the Valley this way: "Not long ago several paths crossed…The Miller, The Maze, The Messenger, The Pageant, The Guard, The Idler, The Innkeeper, The Curse, The Gargoyle, The Water Carrier."
Meanwhile, Untold will be making a series of appearances in Europe and New York through September—see dates below. Last March, he shared an exclusive FADER mix and spoke about presenting the audio visual show for Black Light Spire in a live setting. “Visuals are provided by the incredibly talented CurrentCurrent buro. Together we’re trying to pressurise the room. Visually everything should feel molten and fluid. I’m running around the stage trying to keep all the machines in sync and playing drum solos on my modular synthesiser.”
