FADER PREMIERE
As a founding member of the Negroclash party and a long-time patron of R&B, DJ Lindsey has championed the genre from the reaches of it's Top 40 bangers to its progressive edges and right back to its gooey soulful core. This latest mix The Good Good, a FADER exclusive, finds Lindsey getting back to the R&B roots that first ignited her devotion and exploring the new jacks that pushing the sound to new territory.
I've always been a fan of the music that includes both electronic sounds and a good soulful vocal since I did Negroclash back in the day. This is just a modernized version of that party's aesthetic. I feel like we explored the 70s, 80s & early 90s thoroughly with guest DJs like Mantronix, Larry Heard, Red Alert, Jazzy Joyce, etc and this is just the natural progression of my interest in that sound. Now I'm really excited for artists like Kaytranada who produced "Friday Night" for ReVa Devito, Fatima, Falcons, BOSCO, Sophie & OGs like Tiny, J*Davey & Nina Sky.
