Even though I worked at Barnes & Noble for a couple months in 2012 and sold an incalculable number of copies of 50 Shades of Grey and its sequels, I somehow avoided finding out anything about the plot. Basically, I knew that it started out as Twilight fan fiction and that, due to its steamy themes, often made its shyest readers blush on the subway. Even watching the trailer now I don't feel particularly tuned in to the inner-workings of what I assume to be a very complicated storyline, but I don't think that's the point. The clip is soundtracked by a new, slow-building, slightly eerie rework of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's summer-of-'03 mega-hit "Crazy In Love," and it's probably worth watching to hear that, at least. The movie stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan and hits theaters next Valentine's Day.
