The sixth release from the Ryan Hemsworth-run Secrets Songs project (that my editor Duncan likened to a "vibes delivery service") is "p u l l (May 15)," a new one from prolific and restless Sam Ray aka Ricky Eat Acid. While his just-released EP is full of frazzled party music, this one's more heavy-hearted; it actually reminds me of a slow, screechy, Ricky Eat Acid-y take on this stray mp3 Ray randomly dropped, which—funny enough—also has the date "May 15th" in its title. Hemsworth writes that he's been a "serious fan" of REA for a long while and shouts-out Brooklyn label Orchid Tapes; read more over at Soundcloud.
