Nowhere F.C. Will Customize Your World Cup Jersey with Emojis and Fly Patches

Because your soccer gear needs emojis.

June 17, 2014

Finally, we're in the throes of the World Cup games, and the football fanatics at the Chinatown-based collective Nowhere are doing their part to kit out New Yorkers with customized jerseys for the length of it. Dubbed "Fly Nowhere," the project is a collaboration with apparel tech brand Avery Dennison that allows fans to customize jerseys with heat transfer patches that range from traditional team crests to emoji-inspired icons at their football concierge pop-up shop. This bespoke, by appointment only shop, comes on the heels of Avery Dennison’s participation in London Fashion Week, where their graphic heat transfer images adorned Astrid Andersen's SS15 presentation. The Fly Nowhere service is free to those invited to stop by the small but conspicuous shopfront at 110 Forsyth Street right next to the football pitches that line Chrystie Street; you'll know it by the giant neon soccer ball in the window. The time frame to cop these one-of-a-kind customized kits is limited, with the football concierge shuttering with the close of the World Cup games next month. Check out more of their customized jerseys and original patches below.
