FADER PREMIERE
The way the sunlight hit the street this morning on my walk to the subway felt like some little forgotten bit of peace and quiet had stretched out its arms and yawned its way back into existence. Everything felt still for a second; all I could hear was my own breath. There's something of that sensation to "The Drop" from young Essex-born MC Nick Brewer. Taken from his debut EP, Four Miles Further, forthcoming on Island Records, it has a jazzy spring to its super languid step. Plus, it includes a truly lovely, feet-on-ground verse from North London's Little Simz, who featured on these very pages only just last month.
