A lot of Merchandise songs have always kind of sounded like they were conceived on a grayish day in Manchester or West Sussex in the '80s and not in the basements of punk houses in present-day Florida. This new song and its accompanying visuals propel them further into that brooding flashback than they've ever been. The dizzying video for "Little Killer," a song from their upcoming 4AD full-length, feels almost like an out-and-out throwback, from the muted color palette to the old school tube TV set in the opening to the deliberately daft "trippy" editing throughout. "We're going to remake ourselves as a pop band but it'll still be a twisted reality," said singer Carson Cox, who also directed the clip, in a press release. New LP After The End doesn't have a release date yet but I'm looking forward to hearing what that twisted pop reality sounds like.
