FADER PREMIERE
On June 24th, Tonstartssbandht will release its first-ever live album, edited together from a summer spent train and bus-hopping around Europe and borrowing instruments and recording gear from people in each town. Below, we're streaming a track from a particularly epic burner set they recorded last Spring at Cafe Trauma in Marburg, Germany; it jumps from detailed banjo work to blown-out, stadium-ready psych rock with a devilishness that feels very particular to the brothers Andy and Edwin White, and according to the band, it's actually a medley of three different songs: "'Dad' is inspired by our dad being robbed at gunpoint in downtown Orlando in the early nineties. He says he just thought about his children. 'Skyline' is a cover/tribute to Pharaoh Overlord's track of the same name (Their The Battle Of The Axehammer is a perfect album). 'Olde Feelings' is about when everything just feels like too much at once but also completely still and calm, so you just roll with it. We bookended the medley with some old-fashioned usual Flynt-indebted boogie-ing." Look out for the Overseas double-LP via Company Etc/ Arbutus, and watch a trailer for the band's upcoming European tourdates with Mac Demarco and Jerry Paper below.
