This morning singer and mega-producer Terius Nash, aka The-Dream, turned himself in to NYPD authorities for outstanding assault charges stemming from a 2013 altercation with his then-pregnant girlfriend Lydia Nam, TMZ reports. According to police reports, Nash allegedly kicked, punched and strangled Nam while she was pregnant with his son at The Plaza Hotel in NYC. News of the assault charges broke on April 30th 2014, the day after The-Dream released "BLACK", a socially conscious song and video that stands in stark contrast to the love-making, body-rolling bedroom songs that have made him famous. This incident comes after a tumultuous couple of months for Nash. Back in January he left his label, Def Jam, after six years and five albums, citing his currently withheld album, Love IV MMXII, as a source of strained label relations.
