Today marks two full years since the untimely demise of the Swedish pop duo Air France. Though no direct descendant has stepped up to the plate in those intervening years, The Line of Best Fit rightly identified the multinational dream-poppers in Yumi Zouma as capable hands for paying tribute to the wistful, romantic legacy that Joel Karlsson and Henrik Markstedt left behind after only a few short releases. At TLOBF's request, Yumi Zouma recorded a new version of Air France’s last track, “It Feels Good to Be Around You.” It's a fairly faithful rendition, but with a thoughtful twist: they reached out to Karlsson and Markstedt, who chose to appear on the track in a unique and affecting way, reading selections from a letter they wrote about the band’s dissolution. It’s pretty much the perfect eulogy.
