The protagonist of this video kind of reminds me of the dude from Temple Run, only instead of running around on an endless horizontal ramp, he's climbing up a ladder, and the environments he travels through keep changing, even though he doesn't seem to be able to stop and enjoy any of them. It's hypnotizing in an indescribable way, especially against the bongo-laden house rhythmics that Midnight Jüggernaüts member Andrew Szekeres, aka Türkish Prison, is mining here, punctuated with the occasional, fourth-wall-breaking chain of echoing dub effects. "Ancient City" is the title track of a three-song EP the Melbourne producer has out on Siberia Records today, and that comes with "a cüstom box of incense and Tantric meditation manual to guide you on your trip to the Kingdom of Axum and beyond."
