FADER PREMIERE
I wrote about Yoshino Yoshikawa last year during a fit of obsession over Japanese juke and its various mutations; now, the Hachiōji producer makes his debut with a North American label, with the Yumetatsu Glider EP out March 25th via ZOOM / LENS (see also: Meishi Smile). The title track bubbles at a far slower tempo than Yoshikawa's dancier music that first caught my ear—this is more like little flowery dots floating up from a tea bag than the frantic fizz of soda pop—but still present, and still very well done, is an unabashed, reassuring cheeriness. Last week, a friend of mine happened to sit next to Lil B on a flight, and they talked the whole way—I bet afterward he felt something like this song.
