Watch a Scene From the André 3000 Jimi Hendrix Biopic

Academy Award winner John Ridley's long-gestating André 3000-starring Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side will make its US debut at SXSW this weekend, and just today, a first bit of footage has surfaced online. The short clip shows Hendrix (André) talking to Linda Keith (Imogen Poots), Keith Richard's former girlfriend and an early supporter, about his upcoming appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival-- after which the rest was history. The film was first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall to lukewarm reviews; there's still no word on when it will be released in theaters here in the U.S.
