The fusion of the organic (her voice) and the steely unnatural (her beats) has always been part of the thrill of Kelela’s music, and a new video for a collaboration between her and Night Slugs' Bok Bok for his new EP represents that well. Set in a well-landscaped boho mansion (in Los Angeles?), Kelela skypes in over the jangly beat like a hologram, reminding a bit of Fanmail’s enduring techno-influence. Also, can Bok Bok and Kelela do an entire album together please?
