"Streamers," the new song from 21-year-old wunderkind Wave Racer, sounds kind of how the single art looks: chirpy and vaguely vacation-themed, warm and euphoric but also hewn from a hard-edged, wholly synthetic reality. If the Australian producer's previous "Rock U Tonite" smash was any indication, dude has hooks for miles, and they sometimes emerge in unexpected places on this one, like the recurring baby voice shouting "hey," and that instantly infectious funk bassline, at once caricaturish and deeply resonant. "Streamers" is out February 7th via Future Classic. Australian and North American tourdates below.
