In a HangWith campfire chat with fans earlier this month, Timbaland let some excellent news slip: he's working with Devante Swing-- who gave Tim his moniker and an extended hand early in his career, inviting the then-young producer to be a part of his Swing Mob -- on a new Jodeci album. Basically unprompted, he says:
"I met with DeVante and I'ma help work on the new Jodeci album. I ain't really supposed to say that, but I'll be working with the new Jodeci album. And, that will be my career coming full circle, connecting back with DeVante."
The results of their labors will be Jodeci's first album since 1995's The Show, the After Party, the Hotel. And "It does sound good," Tim assures. Meanwhile, the super-producer is also at work on his own album, Textbook Timbo, and is contributing to an upcoming Michael Jackson posthumous album.
He breaks the good news at around 3:20 in the video below. He also talks dub-step, paying tithes to the church and Travis Scott. "I absolutely want to put him on the album," he says. "I love him, I love him. He's dope."
