According to a message on his Facebook, a public memorial for Lou Reed will be held this Thursday, November 14, at Lincoln Center in New York City. Scheduled to begin at 1pm and run three hours, there will be "no speeches. no live performances, just Lou's voice, guitar music & songs -- playing the recordings selected by his family and friends." For fans, friends and family, it will be a chance to celebrate of the "release of love," as Laurie Anderson described Reed's final moments in the beautiful tribute she wrote for Rolling Stone.
