Atlanta rapper Marc Decoca's probably best known for his 2010 collaboration with Stuey Rock, "Booty (What's It Gonna Be)," a dance-friendly R&B song that didn't totally do justice to the fact that he can actually spit. Decoca does a whole lot on his latest free album, The Beautiful Images of Atlantic Omega—from the straightforward slap of "Johnny Blast" to the stripped-down, warped "Armes" to album highlight "Alone," the beat of which sounds like it was made by Clams Casino, if he was raised in Atlanta. These disparate elements somehow make sense in context, though, held together by Decoca's compelling drawl. On top of it all, he's listed as one of the album's executive producers; he's pushed himself here, and it shows.
