Kevin Gates, the gravelly and battle-scarred Baton Rouge rapper, has recorded his own version of equally hoarse and earnest rapper Rich Homie Quan's "Type of Way," Quan's still-burning breakout hit, which was released as a mixtape reissue bonus track back in February. Above, watch Gates perform the reboot in a studio session. Gates' album, Stranger Than Fiction, is out now; he'll support it on a tour of southern clubs in October and November.
