Body/Head is the vox/guitar duo of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, a Western Massachusetts-based shredder you may have heard of in association with noise bands from that area like Vampire Belt and X04. Mostly, it's Kim Gordon singing and speaking and wailing over an undulating sea of guitar matter—sometimes repetitive and melodic, and sometimes ear-splittingly harsh, but never in a way that isn't simultaneously very lyrical and poignant. "Actress," which just debuted on Rookie Mag, is the third in a sequence of tracks on their upcoming double-LP all titled after mysterious female archetypes (the others are "Murderess" and "Last Mistress"). It's feels kind of like the dramatic climax of the section, but it's one of the most beautifully untethered moments on the album, period. Read more about Body/Head in our coverage of Red Bull's Drone Activity in Progress showcase this Spring, and grab Coming Apart via Matador starting September 10th.
