Every Saturday every summer, MoMA PS1 presents Warm Up, an event series taking place in their enormous courtyard. The museum—MoMA’s longstanding sister site in Long Island City, Queens—is a lightning rod for new and exciting artists, and each week’s performers inhabit a similar space in the music world. As a warm up to Warm Up, FADER and MoMA PS1 will be posting an exclusive mix from one of the upcoming week's artists. Today we've got DJ Dodger Stadium, the duo of Samo Sound Boy and Jerome LOL, who'll hold down this Saturday's Warm Up with Julio Bashmore, Octave One and Hyetal. SAMO: Grown Folk, "Freak Dis"
JEROME: Stevie Wonder, "Sir Duke"
What's the best summer vacation you ever took?
SAMO: I never really went on vacation in the summer.
JEROME: Cross country road trip from Maryland to LA.
Who is a visual artist that you admire, and why?
SAMO: Matt Connolly. His recent show at Night Gallery in LA blew me away. Minimal and expertly crafted paintings and sculpture. Very beautiful.
JEROME: Gustav Klimt because he liked to "shake things up."
What's your favorite summertime snack, and where do you get it?
SAMO: Shrimp from the shrimp truck.
JEROME: Fruit bags with chili and lime juice from a street vendor in LA.
