Had to double-check the old computer speakers to make sure they weren't blown out multiple times during "Daisy Spirals," a new track from Northern Ireland-based producer The Cyclist. Contrary to popular belief, though, this kind of sonic trickery is actually great. "Daisy Spirals" is all driving techno, staccato high hats and bass low enough to move physical objects, but that additional grit adds texture and heft to what's already there, every bit as essential to the track as the drums. "Daisy Spirals" is on the upcoming Friends of Friends compilation Show Me The Future Vol. 2, out August 12th.
