Oakland, CA's Shortcircles seems to be chilling hard and comfortable in the Bay, home to some of the country's best bummed pop music. He just finished mastering fellow Oaklander Yalls' debut album as Steezy Ray Vibes, and here he enlists the city's man-about-the-blogs Glenn Jackson for some vocals on "All I Can Be For You," off his own debut LP. (Jackson also released Shortcircles' first EP through his Mapzzz label.) Anyway! At lunch they broke my chocolate chip cookie in half and gave me a second one as a bonus, so I'm deep in that, very much enjoying life and the tiny toms on "All I Can Be For You." Shortcircles' Between Waves, a soon-to-be soundtrack to many summer afternoons at nearly two hours in length, comes out July 2nd via Plug Research and is up for preorder now.
