Under solo alias Hubble, The Men's Ben Greenberg will take the tiniest of musical gestures—essentially, a grace-note-like snippet of guitar noodling—and play it over and over again until the listener kind of looses track as to where that note pattern ends and where it begins. Considering all the momentary variations that can take place in the execution of that tiny, intricate passage, it can be pretty psychedelic experience, especially when he passes the guitar signal through a chain of delay effects. "Mingle" is the acoustic a-side of a seven-inch he has out now via Baltimore imprint Company; it sounds like more of a toss-up between two separate diddies, but with all the little flyaway harmonics, it kind of feels like a hundred.
