King Garbage and Kuxxan SUUM are actually both projects by Zach Cooper. The former explores blunted neo soul with the help of vocalist Victor DiMotsis, awash in crawling bass and meticulously shaped soundscapes; the latter is club ready, futuristic and perpetually clipped. If not for the fact that they were both done by the exact same person, there'd be very little to connect the two projects. Cooper's imprint is everywhere though: organic sounds pop in, roughly cut-and-pasted in perfectly awkward rhythm. It's this imperfection and humanness that makes both projects so listenable. The 12-inch is out today, April 29th, on Styles Upon Styles.
