D E N A, the Bulgarian-via-Berlin singer behind last year's addicting, uplifting "Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools," returns with another goofy music video, for "Thin Rope." This one was filmed "half-documentary style" one night in Berlin's Kreuzberg neighborhood, starring friends and whichever strangers they could lasso into joining in. D E N A's odd, circa-2008 blend of M.I.A. and The Blow, topped off by holographic or thick-rope-adorned sweatshirts, isn't for everyone, but her tracks are catchy as hell, and she looks like she's having enough fun to counteract any grumps. She'll play a slew of shows in Austin next week.
