From the cover art photo by Scarlett Hooft Graafland, you can tell Small Black's sophomore LP, Limits of Desire, will be a little more stripped-down than the four-piece's past, layered-and-compressed hypnagogic pop. It's nude, but still packed with meaning. Limits of Desire comes out May 14th via Jagjaguwar, and the first single, "Free at Dawn" is streaming below, a comfortably reclined synth ride with an unexpected, almost U2-like sheen.
