Dustin Payseur proposed to his girlfriend, a manager at his band Beach Fossil's label Captured Tracks, over the holidays. When we visited the tidy Greenpoint apartment last week where he lives with his now-fiancée, there was still plenty of Christmas glow, with the tree lit-up in the corner. While Beach Fossils' new touring lineup (Jack Doyle Smith, Tommy Davidson and Tommy Gardner) played Mario Kart 64 on the couch, Payseur walked us through his move to New York, his supplement regimen and the enormous—by Brooklyn standards—bedroom where he passes days reading, lurking Reddit and writing songs. For more on Beach Fossils' new record, Clash The Truth, out February 19, stream "Generational Synthetic" below and read an interview with Payseur here.
