Master P—the man who founded No Limit in Richmond, California, moved the label to New Orleans and brought Southern rap to the mainstream before starring on his son's Nickelodeon show and advocating for clean lyrics—returns at 45 with a dirty mouth and two wingmen. Alley Boy and Fat Trel, who've been teaming up with P as Louie V Mob all winter (the three say they'll release another tape as a group), appear on almost all of the tracks on Al Capone, which includes feel-good, Triggaman-stemming afternoon party music ("Block Party"), feel-good AutoTune 1.0 hooks ("How I Feel") and thick-skulled shouting matches ("Paper"). The mixtape feels pleasantly detached from the sounds of 2013, if not entirely out-of-step with them. Meek Mill, Chief Keef, Nipsey Hussle, Calliope Var and Kirko Bangz appear; Mystikal does not.
