There's no rapping for two whole minutes in Gunplay's new self-directed video, filmed on location in his living room, where he's passing a period of house arrest while awaiting a trial scheduled for next year. That prelude's nothing to skip over, though, since Gunplay's perhaps as ambitious a sketch comedian as he is a rapper. Over Raekwon's "Guillotine (Swordz)" instrumental, he argues over a soda can with a polished alter-ego. Then they spar, while a third Gunplay raps and a fourth ogles the fight and spills his popcorn. Download Lock Down, a mixtape that looks back on what Gunplay's been up to this year. Gunplay is currently at work on Cops and Robbers, a new mixtape, and Medellin, a full-length set for release via Def Jam next year.
