Frank Ocean Nominated for Six Grammys

Nominations for the 55th Grammy Awards, which take place February 10th, were announced last night at a televised live concert in Nashville, where Taylor Swift beatboxed to LL Cool J's rendition of her song "Mean." Frank Ocean was nominated in six categories. He's up for Best New Artist, and Channel Orange will compete for Album of the Year and Best Urban Contemporary Album. "Thinking Bout You" is up for Record of the Year and "No Church in the Wild" with Kanye and Jay-Z is up for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Short Form Music Video. Ocean reacted in emoji, posting a bug-eyed, pink-cheeked smiley to his Tumblr.

Miguel is up for five awards. Kaleidoscope Dream will compete with Ocean for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Miguel's "Adorn" was also nominated for Song of the Year, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance. His collaboration with Wale, "Lotus Flower Bomb," is up for Best Rap Song. 2 Chainz received three nominations. He'll contend with Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, The Roots and Rick Ross for Best Rap Album. "Mercy," where he appears alongside Kanye West, Big Sean and Pusha-T is up for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d. city was released after September 30, so won't be eligible for nomination until next year. Diplo was nominated for Producer of the Year, for his work with Usher, Santigold, Major Lazer, Alex Clare and Justin Bieber. M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls" video will compete with Rihanna's "We Found Love" for Best Short Form Music Video.
