Laurel Halo cuts to the quick of Lianne La Havas’ "Forget," setting her velvety voice against crunchy, cold beats that seem a better match for her bitter words: Waste all your time writing love songs, but you don't love me and Remember way back when you played me?/ I lost that hand. That last line loops dreadfully, if somehow cathartically. Halo is set to release a new EP, Sunlight on The Faded, on Hyperdub soon and is on tour this fall with Ital, dates below.
