The American composer and guitarist Rafiq Bhatia spent two years prepping his debut LP, Yes It Will, before setting off with his partner Alexander Overington to mix it in Valgeir Sigurðsson's studio in Reykjavík, Iceland. (Sigurðsson helped found Bedroom Community and recently produced two Björk albums and Feist's Metals). "Sunshower" is the first song we've heard, and it echoes like jazz set out to sea, inaugurated by Bhatia's deft fingerpicking, sounding like a tree's worth of acorns rolling into a fjord. "Sunshower" will feature on Bhatia's Strata EP, out September 25th via his own label, Rest Assured. His Yes It Will LP comes out a month later, on October 23rd.
