"The Sound," the first single from Maria Minerva‘s upcoming album Will Happiness Find Me? (out September 4th via Not Not Fun), begins with a looped sample of a 1968 Canadian TV documentary, where Maharishi Mahesh explains transcendental meditation while walking around a lake. As Minerva sings overtop about a guy she can't get out of her head, she sets scraps of Mahesh's big ideas adrift over satisfying pings and drums that sound like they're shattering. This fall, the Londoner-via-Estonia embarks on her first proper US tour. On Facebook, she writes, "I cannot waaaiitt to see the mythic America." See a full schedule of dates below.
