The video for "BasedExorcism," off frequent Lil B producer Keyboard Kid’s instrumental Transition EP, builds on the Twin Peaks iconography first explored on the Seattle beatsmith's "808s and Space" mix. Directed by Bryan McKay and Shannen Ortale in homage to David Lynch's TV masterstroke, "BasedExorcism" folds shots of the Keyboard Kid's cassette tapes into recreated footage from Twin Peaks—the menacing ceiling fan, the empty-eyed high school portrait of Laura Palmer. It's a bit grim for a producer often associated with unbounded positivity, like a glimpse at cloud rap on an especially stormy day. Transition is out now via Brighton's Donky Pitch.
