Until Lex Luger's reign over mixtape rap began, Memphis native Drumma Boy set the standard for Southern rap production. Although both artists have been credited with defining the sound coming out of Atlanta, neither were raised there. Atlanta was primarily a center of gravity, where all the business took place. Now that Drumma Boy is working to move toward center stage as an artist, he's aligned himself more closely with his hometown. On "Welcome," from his mixtape Welcome To My City 2, the producer is joined by two rising voices from Memphis, Young Dolph and Zed Zilla, and one veteran, Playa Fly.
