HD’s album Fresh was arguably his most fully-realized. The bulk of its beats by Bay Area beat-auteur DJ Fresh, the album had a consistency of sound that can be rare in the Oakland area, where non-stop release schedules are the norm. "Cost of Livin" is a highlight from that album of highlights, and it's just been given a video courtesy Mike Deezo and Bro Jackson. The beat weds slapping 808s to a relaxed R&B sample, while HD speaks on the cost of living, both literally and metaphorically, in the drug game.
