Stream: Face + Heel, “One Hundred Years”

April 20, 2012

Early next month, Luke Taylor and Sinead McMillan, comprising the Welsh duo Face + Heel, will release No Stars, the first of three EPs planned for this year and the inaugural release of the new electronic label Warm, an offshoot of the long-running London club night of the same name. On "One Hundred Years," McMillan's distant singing—Do you make a home from a house that's burning?—contrasts an elegiac instrumental featuring a percussion break resembling the distinct, metal-on-metal rattling of trains rolling over railroad switches, altogether building a song both earthbound and angelic. For more, check out the EP's even darker title track on Dummy, and download last month's great live performance at Boiler Room. No Stars comes out May 7th.
